It wasn’t about me, or BioAro Inc. ecosystem, it was about your family. We wanted to have a stage where everyone comes together, and share what they do and how they are advancing field of Precision Medicine. You assume that your doctors are making the best call, but they don’t even have data they need and understanding of Genomics in your health’s context. I asked to become a student at the Precision Health and Longevity Summit in Calgary by DIL Walk Foundation and didn’t give any keynotes. I wanted to learn from the leaders, patients and politicians, and see if we could bring everyone together for one agenda: How to implement Precision Health today? We have the tools, but we lack implementation. I also learnt that an Obs/Gyn spend <4 hours in their medical school training where they are taught about Menopause, and women spend 1/3 of their lifespan in this stage. I also learnt that 1 in 4 are eligible for Cancer screening using precision health, but its not implemented at many levels. I also learnt that 4th most common cause of death in USA (Likely Canada too) is Adverse Reactions to medicines and we have solutions in #PharmacoGenomics, rarely used. Its not technology anymore, its about NOT using it for betterment of our societies. Perhaps the most uncomfortable truth is that we possess better tools than ever before. Advanced lipid testing, genetic screening, coronary calcium scoring, artificial intelligence, precision medicine, and increasingly effective lipid-lowering therapies have transformed our ability to identify and reduce cardiovascular risk. The science is no longer the limiting factor. The willingness to act is. Years from now, historians may look back at this period and ask a simple question: How did a society capable of sequencing genomes, predicting disease risk, and developing therapies that dramatically reduce cardiovascular events continue to wait for the heart attack before taking prevention seriously? The answer, I suspect, will be uncomfortable. The problem was never what we knew. The problem was what we chose to do—or not do—with that knowledge.

He will be in Calgary for few days, before going towards Alaska. He will be driving back to attempt a World Record of driving in less than 3 weeks, from Tip of North America to the Tip of South America. BioAro Inc. Owning GPUs does not automatically create sovereignty. Launching a chatbot does not create sovereignty. Building a domestic AI application layer on top of external intelligence systems does not create sovereignty. True Sovereign AI is ultimately about strategic control. It is the ability of a nation or institution to independently govern, secure, operate, and evolve critical AI systems under its own legal, economic, and geopolitical authority. Very few countries currently possess that capability in a fully integrated form. And perhaps that is the uncomfortable truth many policymakers and technology leaders are reluctant to acknowledge publicly.

I was honoured to speak at the Canadian Bar Association’s #CBAHealthLaw Summit this week, hosted at the iconic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Québec City. I had the opportunity to share insights with a distinguished group of health and regulatory lawyers on one of the most important shifts happening in medicine today: How AI and Precision Health are fundamentally transforming healthcare delivery? We explored the tremendous promise of genomics-informed, data-driven care and the very real challenges it will create in the current regulatory and legal environment. Canadian physicians are not currently trained in genomics or advanced predictive analytics. As patients increasingly recognize this gap between what is now possible and what their doctors are offering, we can expect a significant rise in college complaints and malpractice claims. The CMPA and provincial Colleges will need to prepare for this new reality. Existing standards of care were not designed for AI-powered predictive health or pharmacogenomics. Many physicians are already practising defensive medicine in the wake of post-COVID complaint trends , a pattern that ultimately harms patients more than it protects them. The coming years will test the Canadian healthcare system as it navigates this transition. While the present can feel slow and sometimes unrewarding, I remain optimistic. Through the work my team and I have led at BioAro Inc., we have worked hard to bring genomics and precision health forward in Canada. Though meaningful system-wide change has been challenging, these efforts have sparked important conversations. One day, I believe Canadians will look back and recognize that the groundwork we are laying today was necessary and that we were among the pioneers helping to build a more proactive, personalized, and effective healthcare future.
