Als Kind habe ich den Weinkeller stets mit Familienfesten in Heerbrugg und den Rebberg beim Spielen in Rapperswil-Jona erlebt. Wir konnten den ganzen Tag Brennholz sammeln und im Herbst Vögel aus den Netzen befreien. Dadurch entdeckte ich auch mein Interesse an den heimischen Pflanzen.
