Summer Davos 2026, Dalian. One message, Three sessions — on business, on medicine, on ageing. We are not having an environmental crisis or a social crisis. We are having an ethical and moral crisis. Morality is directional — where we should go. Ethics is relational — how we live with each other. Everywhere we look today, we see disharmony: within ourselves, among people, with nature. All these problems are created by people. If we change ourselves, all problems are solved. I shared the same principle in three different rooms: In business: ESG is a mitigating strategy — doing less harm. What the world needs is an adaptive strategy — doing more good. As we do more good, harm eliminates itself. In health: Chinese medicine aspires to cure three things — the symptoms, then the person, so you awaken and live according to your own rhythm, and finally life itself. Healing does not stop at symptoms; neither should our leadership. In ageing: The silver tsunami is not a tsunami. I am 70, and I think it is great. The shift we need is from a medical care mindset to a health care, self-care mindset. If you are healthy, you have no medical bills. This cannot be legislated — it can only come through education and a change of consciousness. Who will lead this shift? Business, and they already have the capability the future requires — entrepreneurship plus integration, turning concept into reality. And family business capital is as deep as institutional capital, yet flexible and long-term enough to dream: the existing business can finance the future. Evolution teaches us that we need only 2 or 3 percent working together to move the whole. And AI? AI will take over production — and give us back our freedom. Freedom to heal ourselves, to cultivate ourselves, and to do the truly human work: building the Well-being and Happiness Economy, measured not by GDP but by how well people flourish. On the final panel I was asked to complete the sentence: “A society has successfully turned ageing into an asset when...” My answer: When we discover that we are love itself. That is the work ahead. We continue it at AT ONE IMPACT WEEK 2026 in Singapore this September — a whole-system approach for impact. I welcome you to join us. If not, see you in Davos next year. #AMNC2026 #SummerDavos #WellBeingEconomy #ImpactWeek2026 #QuantumLeadership #ImpactInvesting
Without Love, There Is No Future This was how I concluded my remarks at the Neptune Forum in Paris on #WorldOceanDay, joining virtually from China as leaders from science, business, government, finance, and civil society gathered to discuss one of the defining questions of our time: how do we restore the systems that sustain life? I spoke about three things: the ocean, the Well-being Economy, and love. The ocean is not simply an environmental issue. It is part of a complete living system that connects climate, biodiversity, food, trade, culture, and human well-being. What happens to the ocean reflects what is happening to our civilisation. The challenge before us is that we continue to manage only what we can measure. Today, we measure economic success largely through GDP. Yet GDP tells us what is produced and consumed; it does not tell us whether life itself is flourishing. This is why the conversation around a Well-being Economy matters. In 2012, the United Nations began advocating for broader measures of progress that incorporate well-being alongside economic growth. The question is not whether growth matters. The question is whether our measurements reflect what truly matters. A Well-being Economy recognises that economy and culture are inseparable. Economy is the visible expression of culture. Culture is the invisible expression of economy. What we desire, what we value, and what we prioritise ultimately shape the economic systems we create. If we want different outcomes, we must also examine the invisible drivers behind them. The challenge before us is therefore not only economic. It is cultural. And this brings me to love. Not as sentiment. Not as emotion. But as an action. Love is the action between care and joy—the decision to translate care into responsibility, and responsibility into stewardship—only then can we have the dividend of joy. If we are serious about creating lasting change, love cannot remain an individual virtue. It must become infrastructure. We need both the internal conditions that generate love and the external systems that enable its expression at scale—in education, finance, governance, business, and community. The good news is that we do not need all of humanity to agree. History shows that profound change often begins with a small group of committed leaders working together. One or two percent is enough to create a tipping point. This is the work ahead. At AT ONE IMPACT WEEK 2026, in Singapore this coming September, we will continue building the architecture of a Well-being Economy across four interconnected systems: oceans, cities, rural landscapes, and human development. Because the future will not be determined by technology alone, capital alone, or policy alone. It will be determined by what we choose to value. And without love, there is no future. www.impactweek.com TPC (Tsao Pao Chee) NO.17 Foundation #LoveAsInfrastructure #WellBeingEconomy #Ocean #IMPACTWEEK2026 #LeadWithLove
When we are whole, all our actions are love. This was how we closed IMPACT WEEK last year. It has stayed with me — not as a statement, but as a question. What do we need to co-create, so that all our actions are love? Over time, I have come to understand that impact is co-created. Every system we build, every decision we make, and every outcome we experience is shaped collectively, whether we are conscious of it or not. So the question is not whether we are creating impact but what are we creating together? Today, we find ourselves at a moment where many of our systems — economic, social, and environmental — are no longer serving the future we seek. They have brought us far, but they cannot take us where we need to go. Beneath these challenges, there is a deeper truth. At the heart of every human being is a simple aspiration: to be well, and to be happy. Not only for ourselves, but for others. We cannot experience well-being in isolation from the systems and communities we are part of. This is why the future we are moving toward is not just a more efficient economy, but a Well-being Economy — one that reflects this shared aspiration and aligns our systems with the flourishing of life. In my own journey, I have seen that there are two forces that shape how we move toward this future. One is driven by fear — urgency, pressure, and the need to solve problems. The other is driven by love — the deeper wish for life to flourish. Both have their place. But only one can sustain what we are trying to build. If we are to move forward meaningfully, we must begin from this deeper source. When this inner wish is expressed collectively, it becomes love — a force that shapes how we design, collaborate, and build. This leads us to these simple but important questions: What if love is not only something we feel, but something we design for? What if love became infrastructure? For love to truly serve humanity, it must take form. As systems, structures, and a shared way of working together. This is the work we are beginning through IMPACT WEEK 2026. A platform for shaping our actions — where leaders across business, government, capital, and community can come together not only to exchange ideas, but to co-create the systems our future requires. A new economy is not only about new models. It is about new consciousness. What we build is always a reflection of what we value, and how we see the world. This is why I would like to extend a simple invitation. To leaders of all institutions — commercial and non-commercial. To those shaping capital, policy, culture, and communities. What is the future you truly wish to create? And how might we begin to build it — together? When we begin from wholeness, love becomes infrastructure. Partnership becomes natural. Integration becomes possible. And impact becomes real. IMPACT WEEK 2026 begins here. www.impactweek.com #ImpactWeek2026 #LoveAsInfrastructure #WellbeingEconomy #LeadWithLove
Love as foundation. Leadership as care. Capital as alignment. Business as a force for transformation. As we bring the TPC House at Davos to a close, I am left with a deep sense of humility and quiet conviction. What we shared this week was not a strategy or campaign. It was a lived invitation — to remember that the future will not be shaped by force, but by collaboration. Not by what we do, but by the quality of impact we create through what we do. Across every panel and exchange — from oceans to capital, education to longevity — one truth kept returning: We do not lead with answers. We lead with presence. We do not own this world. We are here to serve it. And when we come into coherence with life, we no longer chase change. We become it. This is the bridge we seek to build — between East and West, between ancient wisdom and modern science, between inner transformation and outer action. Because consciousness is the mother of capital. And true impact begins from within. This is how we shape the individual and collective legacy of humanity. This is how we serve the well-being of life. My gratitude to every partner and guest who stepped into this space with us. May the conversations continue — in boardrooms, in communities, and most importantly, within ourselves. Let this be just the beginning. #TPCHouse #BeWellByBeingGood #QuantumLeadership #WellBeingEconomy #EastMeetsWest #WEF26
A Quiet Offering For over a century, my family has stewarded our business across generations — from shipping, to logistics, to where we stand today. Each era brought new challenges, new opportunities, and new questions. Yet the most important evolution we have undergone has not been in our business model. It has been in our consciousness. For the past two decades, I have walked an inner path — seeking to understand the deeper roots of our global challenges, and the evolution of human awareness required to meet them. This journey revealed a simple yet profound truth: we must reimagine leadership. Not as control or authority, but as coherence and alignment. True leadership is not something we exercise over others; it is something we awaken within ourselves. It is a form of stewardship — a way of attuning our inner operating system to the deeper rhythm of life. When we come into alignment with that rhythm, we do not force outcomes. We participate in life’s unfolding with presence, care, and responsibility. This way of being gave shape to what we now call Quantum Leadership — not a theory we invented, but a principle we came to receive and embody. A lived practice that invites alignment between self, system, and spirit — and calls us to serve not from ego or ambition, but from love. At TPC, this has become our compass. It shapes how we lead, how we build, and how we serve. Across our ecosystem — from logistics to learning, from capital to care — we strive to move in rhythm with life, creating value that helps people grow, systems flow, and life flourish. This year, we bring this spirit to Davos. We are humbly opening the TPC House — a sanctuary where leadership can pause, listen more deeply, and return to what truly matters. A space for reflection, realignment, and regeneration. As we enter the Well-being Era, may this House serve as a quiet invitation to remember: that true prosperity begins with purpose, that transformation begins within, and that we walk this path together — as a field — in service of the well-being of life, while creating wealth at the same time. I was honoured to speak alongside Professor Jeffrey Sachs, representing the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN), at the GBA–ASEAN Conference on Trade, Finance and Sustainable Development — where we launched the GBA–ASEAN Initiative, a partnership between TPC (Tsao Pao Chee) / NO.17 Foundation and UNSDSN to advance a Well-being Economy across Asia. I was born in Hong Kong, into a Shanghai family whose roots trace back to the late Qing Dynasty and whose journey across Southeast Asia began in 1948. My first visit to Singapore was in 1960 — the very day it became Singapore. Educated in the West yet grounded in the East, I have spent my life between worlds — learning how systems, cultures, and beliefs can enrich one another rather than compete. Both Singapore and the Greater Bay Area stand today as living bridges between these worlds. Witnessing their evolution has been a lifelong lesson in transformation — that true development is measured not only in wealth, but in the growth of consciousness and culture. My takeaway is simple: our greatest constraint is not capital or technology — it’s coherence. When morality becomes direction and consciousness becomes capital, prosperity begins to serve life. Eastern philosophy reminds us that Dao is the foundation — the natural order aligning humanity with the cosmos. When we follow the Dao, we prosper; when we lose it, we decline. In quantum science, this Dao is the field of consciousness that shapes reality. When consciousness shifts, systems evolve. When confidence in our path, theory, and institutions grows, competence follows. And when consciousness shifts, behaviour shifts — how we think, feel, and choose creates our reality. Coherence connects these layers — linking awareness with action, and values with capability. The United Nations now recognises the shift from GDP to GNH — reflecting our shared aspiration to be well and happy, guided by conscience and true nature. The GBA–ASEAN Initiative carries this spirit forward — weaving together public, private, and philanthropic systems to build bridges and enable small and medium-sized enterprises to thrive. These efforts, together with the Association for Well-being Economy in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, are part of one movement: aligning morality with direction, and turning consciousness into capital — so that prosperity can truly serve life. As the ancients taught, 天人合一,共创大同世界 — align with the way things are, and co-create a world of coherence. Leadership is not charisma or control; it is inner alignment expressed outwardly. In the months ahead, we will continue building a living bridge between East and West — where dialogue becomes practice, capital meets conscience, and innovation serves life. Because to be coherent is to be connected — within ourselves, and with one another. #TPC #WEF2026 #GBAASEAN #QuantumLeadership #WellbeingEconomy #EastMeetsWest #TradeWithPurpose #BeWellByBeingGood #AWE
I spoke at the Asia Summit & Symposium: Global Quantum Blueprint, together with colleagues from the science and consciousness communities. The discussion reminded me that the challenges we face today are not about resources or technology. They come from a loss of ethics, morality, and leadership. When ethics break down, human relationships lose harmony. When morality is unclear, we lose direction. Quantum science shows that when energy accumulates, it takes form. Consciousness interacts with energy to shape reality (炁聚成形). Reality is not fixed. It is co-created by how we think, act, and relate. This means leadership is not the privilege of a few. Every person plays a role in shaping the systems we live in (天下兴亡,匹夫有责, the rise and fall of the world concerns everyone). The Well-being Economy begins with this first pillar, the human. When people are aware, ethical, and aligned, the systems they build naturally follow. Leadership is not about charisma or control. It begins within. It comes from the completeness already inside us (本自具足), confidence that grows from awareness, not from external success. When our inner state is coherent, our actions align, and the environment around us begins to respond, a state Chinese philosophy calls 神助, when alignment brings flow and support. Eastern philosophy describes this relationship as 人法地,地法天,天法道,道法自然, meaning people follow the patterns of the earth, the earth follows universal principles, and all follow the natural order. It reminds us that humanity exists as part of a larger system, not apart from it. The Global Quantum Blueprint is not a theory but a practice to move from GDP to GNH, from success to stewardship, from separation to 大同世界, a world of coherence where prosperity serves life. #QuantumLeadership #Consciousness #Leadership #Ethics #SystemsChange #WellbeingEconomy #LifeFlourishing #BeWellByBeingGood TPC (Tsao Pao Chee) NO.17 Foundation OCTAVE Institute Limited
What happened in Singapore last week was more than an event. It marked a shift — a convergence of systems, sectors, and leaders shaping a new Well-being Economy. Over five days, more than 4,000 participants from business, policy, philanthropy, academia, culture, and community came together in a shared journey. What emerged was not just dialogue, but a coherent field of action — unified in direction and aligned in purpose. This field was not built by any one organisation. It grew through collaboration and a shared recognition: systemic challenges demand systemic responses. Together, we launched foundational initiatives that will extend far beyond the week: • The 16-member Impact Partners Coalition, weaving finance, education, nature restoration, and advocacy into one fabric of systemic change. • An Asia Roadmap with Climate KIC, integrating climate, health, and education. • A founding membership in 99 for Humanity with Catalyst Now, reimagining philanthropy. • A deepened collaboration with Temasek Foundation across climate, health, and education. • Asia’s largest Ocean Fund helmed by OCTAVE Capital and Katapult Ocean, anchoring long-term stewardship of the Well-being Economy. • WEGA NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS), an Asia-rooted evolution of ESG, placing well-being at its core. • The Social Transformation Project in Fengshan, grounding change in families and communities. • The TPC-Renaissance House in Davos, a space to continue the conversation globally. These outcomes were born of alignment — driven by the belief that transformation must be collaborative, not transactional. The convergence of public, private, philanthropic, and civic actors showed that a new model of partnership is already forming. The challenges we face are not isolated. They are systemic symptoms of a world in transition. Addressing them requires more than reform — it requires reimagining economies and systems with well-being as the design principle. IMPACT WEEK 2025 was a field test of this paradigm. It showed that capital can be redirected, collaboration can scale, and innovation can serve regeneration — not just growth. Leadership must now be defined by alignment of values, vision, and action. Fifty years from now, this may be remembered as a moment of inflection. Not because everything was solved — but because something truly began. A readiness to move from urgency to unity. From fragmented action to coordinated transformation. We move forward with clarity. Not all answers are known, but the direction is set — toward a Well-being Economy where enterprise is driven by purpose, and leadership is exercised through stewardship. The movement has begun. And because we are whole, our actions will always be love. Day 1 has left me deeply energised. Well-being is not a department. It is coherence. Life is one whole system, visible and invisible. When we align with that wholeness, action becomes true, good, beautiful. Action becomes love. Today, that coherence was not theory. It was alive. In the dialogues, in the partnerships, in the field itself. I witnessed collaboration and co-creation in motion, a glimpse of the Well-being Economy not as concept, but as reality. The level and depth of the exploration was on another level. Education reminded us of its power. Schools condition the next generation, yes, but so do businesses, through the desires we shape and the stories we tell. If marketing feeds indulgence, it weakens the very society it depends on. But if it cultivates wisdom and care, it helps the world align. Business must awaken to this responsibility. We also saw why the 4Ps matter: Public, Private, Philanthropic, and People. An economy is not the work of one sector, but of all moving together. Singapore’s focus on education affirmed this truth: when policy meets purpose, mindsets shift, communities are strengthened, and even the most vulnerable can be lifted. And beyond the panels and programmes, there was something greater. The field itself, alive, overflowing, ready. An Asian response with a global embrace. A signal from the universe that the time is now. The resonance was undeniable. And resonance is always the first step to entanglement. Entanglement is what leads us into true co-creation. It is no accident we are here. What began as a bold idea has already become a movement, because so many answered the call with willingness and conviction. To be entrusted with holding this space is not simply to host an event, but to help steward a turning point that belongs to all of us and to life itself. The crises of our age — climate, inequality, conflict — are not separate problems, but symptoms of misalignment. They cannot be healed with greed, hatred, or ignorance. They can only be healed with coherence, stewardship, and love. And today, we remembered that well-being is always about relationship. Not only between people, but with all things, and with the whole environment within and around us. When we see and live in this coherence, life itself celebrates. The time is now. The movement has begun. The universe has given us this moment. Let us answer it together. 🌏✨ #IMPACTWEEK2025 #WellbeingEconomy #ATONE #BeWellByBeingGood #SystemsChange #CollectiveAction #Leadership #LifeFlourishing #PurposeAndProfit
To be well, we cannot look at things in isolation. To be well, all must be well as life is everything. The whole universe, visible and invisible, is life. And there is only life. There is always a before, a now, and an after. What matters is the direction we choose to move in — together. For years, we’ve been building a theory of change rooted in harmony, collaboration, and Asian values. Signing partnerships for nature restoration. Creating platforms to measure what truly matters. Convening people already in action for impact — gathered together to provide collective exploration for the path for leadership and co-creation to integrate a greater impact — across oceans, capital, education, and philanthropy. Each step has been part of a larger design: to shape a new era where prosperity serves life, not the other way around. This is the intention behind IMPACT WEEK 2025. Not another talk shop, but a convergence of those serious about acting, building, and creating together — to drive not just incremental progress, but systemic change. The truth is simple: we can only be well when the whole life system is well. The crises of our time — climate, inequality, conflict — are not isolated problems, but symptoms of a deeper misalignment. They cannot be healed with greed, hatred, or ignorance. They can only be healed with coherence, stewardship, and love. That is why, starting this week, we gather. Not as attendees, but as stewards of the future. Not just to discuss, but to commit. To grow impact not as individuals, but as an ecosystem. To bring East and West, public and private, philanthropy and people, into one field of action. For over a century, TPC has evolved with the times and continues adding value to life. This week, together with all of you, we take the next step. The challenge is great, which means the opportunity is even greater. Let us meet it — and thrive as ONE. 🌏✨ 🌐 impactweek.com #ImpactWeek2025 #WellbeingEconomy #CollectiveAction #SystemsChange #FamilyBusiness #Leadership #Sustainability #LifeFlourishing #BeWellByBeingGood
As the UN Ocean Conference 2025 comes to a close, I am reminded again that the ocean is not just a resource — it is the final depositary of all that we neglect on land, in governance, and in our economies. It mirrors our systems and makes clear where coherence is missing. With over 120 years and four generations in maritime behind us at TPC, I have seen firsthand that conservation alone is not enough. We need a systemic approach — circular, regenerative, and grounded in upstream solutions. Technology has its place, but real transformation depends on how we rewire industries and align capital to restore what sustains us all. At TPC, our journey has evolved — from moving goods, to enabling value; from trade, to well-being; from extraction, to regeneration. The maritime industry, in particular, must take responsibility to provide entrepreneurial leadership and create the new business models needed to restore the ocean and secure the industry’s future. A key question stays with me: How do we activate every link in the money chain — from philanthropic funds to venture, private wealth, and institutional markets — to protect the ocean as the ultimate common good? This requires clear principles to guide our actions: 🔹 Fix what feeds the ocean. Pollution and fragmentation do not begin in the sea — they end there. 🔹 Include every voice. A resilient ocean economy must uplift fishers, coastal livelihoods, and overlooked communities. 🔹 Make impact foundational. It must be designed in, not retrofitted later. 🔹 Bridge capital with industry wisdom. Connect early innovation with scale and know-how. 🔹 Move from compliance to regeneration. Build new asset classes and educate leaders to steward them. 🔹 Welcome China’s participation. Not for control, but for shared responsibility. 🔹 Shift mindsets to shift systems. Lasting change always starts within. Asia must also reach out and work with the West to find solutions together for our shared global reality — for there is only one Earth beyond the imaginary lines of nations and cultures that divide us. With Southeast Asia poised for rapid growth, the urgency to act is clear — the longer we wait, the higher the cost of repair for future generations. These reflections have reinforced for me that our actions cannot stop at the ocean alone — they must extend across nature as a whole. This context will guide me as I shape and advance the next phase of TPC’s Restore Nature Project, which will take clearer form in the months ahead as we scope its direction and impact. The tide is turning. Let’s rise to meet it. Together. #TPCWellbeingEconomy #WellBeingEconomy #TPC #TPCBrands #GAEA #PurposeAndProfit #BeWellByBeingGood #UNOC
This year’s PAS gathering in Singapore was a reminder of the catalytic role we each play in shaping a flourishing future. I am honored to have been appointed as the GAEA Global Wealth Steward for Well-being and embrace the responsibility of co-creating a well-being economy for people, planet, and purpose. Born from the partnership between TPC (Tsao Pao Chee) and the World Economic Forum’s GAEA initiative, this role reflects our shared mission to reframe challenges as opportunities and harness family business legacies for climate resilience. A key highlight was the "Blueprints for Change: Scaling 4P Collaborations for a Regenerative Asia" session co-hosted by TPC and PAA. It affirmed that Asia's systemic solutions must be anchored in Public-Private-Philanthropic Partnerships (PPPPs) collaborations, built on trust and inclusivity for lasting impact. My heartfelt thanks to the insightful panel members and our exceptional moderator who made this conversation so meaningful: Boon Heong Ng, Luis Alvarado Martinez, Arthur Sletteberg, and moderator Faye Ong. I'm moved by the shared reflections echoing a core truth: true transformation begins with trust, collective purpose and co-creation. Doing is knowing; it starts with the love and confidence we hold within. As a fourth-generation steward of a family business, I see this as bridging legacy with conscious innovation – shifting industrial paradigms towards a well-being economy. I eagerly look forward to deepening this work and co-creating the future together at IMPACT WEEK 2025 this September in Singapore. Let’s sustain this momentum to collectively serve life and steward a regenerative economy for all. #GAEA #PAS2025 #SystemicChange #PurposeDriven #ClimateAction #WellbeingEconomy #FamilyBusiness #PPPP #CollectiveAction #IMPACTWEEK
Against the backdrop of global challenges in sustainability and a growing call for values-driven transformation, the Association for Well-being Economy (AWE) was officially unveiled on 25 April in Hong Kong. Nearly 400 prominent guests from government, business, academia, and professional sectors gathered to witness the Association’s official launch. As Chairman, I emphasized Hong Kong’s vital role as a “Super-Connector” and “Super Value-Addder”—leveraging Chinese cultural wisdom and the city’s unique strengths to foster a thriving economy and continue adding value to life. Central to this mission is advancing the “Go North, Go South” strategy, bridging Hong Kong with emerging Greater Bay Area and ASEAN markets. Aligned with the Belt and Road Initiative, AWE will deploy Proof-of-Concept (PoC) methods and a 12-pillar, 4-column framework—rooted in collaboration, innovation, and Hong Kong’s distinct economic context—to incubate projects that drive sustainable growth and societal impact. AWE’s Board of Trustees includes distinguished leaders from government, business, and academia: • The Hon. Bernard Charnwut Chan GBM, GBS, JP, Chairman and President of Asia Financial Holdings Ltd and Chairman of Our Hong Kong Foundation; • Dr. Rey-Sheng Her, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Tzu Chi Foundation and Associate Scholar at Harvard University; • Dr. Peter Ka-kit LEE GBM, GBS, JP, Member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC and Chairman of Henderson Land Group. NO.17 Foundation convened a Global Partners Retreat in Atami, Japan. The three-day event (April 8-10) gathered 17 representatives from 10 global partners to share insights, exchange ideas, and collaborate on impactful solutions. Deep dialogues focused on four pillars: Climate & Nature, Education, Networks, and Systems, uniting minds to co-create actionable strategies for humanity’s sustainability challenges. A pivotal theme emerged: bridging East and West to ignite an Impact Coalition—a cross-sector paradigm transcending traditional boundaries. Participants reimagined collaboration as unified, vision-driven alliances fostering lasting change, building thriving communities of practice, and prioritizing human flourishing and happiness as core success metrics. This ethos aligns with Impact Investing for Life Flourishing, a framework aligning wealth with purpose through collective well-being, unity, and consciousness. The future is co-created. We stand at the dawn of a transformative era—one where business reclaims its purpose to serve people and the planet. The conversations do not stop here, as we convert them into action at IMPACT WEEK (September 15-19, 2025) in Singapore. Let’s redefine philanthropy, unite sectors, and amplify collective action. 🌏 Stay tuned for groundbreaking updates and join our global movement to turn vision into action! Together, let’s shape 2025 as a milestone for resilience, shared prosperity, and lasting global impact. https://impactweek.com/ #ImpactCoalition #HumanFlourishing #SustainabilityInAction #IMPACTWEEK
Earlier this week, I was honored to join a dinner hosted by Mr. SIDDHARTH CHATTERJEE 常启德, the United Nations Resident Coordinator at the United Nations compound in Beijing with Professor Jeffrey Sachs—a renowned economist behind the annual World Happiness Report and a leading advocate for well-being and the happiness economy—alongside Mr. Liu Zhenmin, China’s Special Envoy for Climate Change. Our discussions emphasized the urgent climate agenda and the UN’s efforts to prioritize this issue as part of its 80th-anniversary commemoration this year. The accelerating climate crisis cannot be ignored—it demands urgent, collective action. From my perspective, the root cause lies in an economy driven by greed rather than love. Climate challenges and environmental pollution stem from human behavior and the pollution of the mind: what we cultivate within manifests externally. Systemic change is crucial, and collaboration through the PPPP framework (Public-Private-Philanthropy-People) remains key to addressing these challenges. As a four-generation family business, we recognize our responsibility to lead this transformation. By aligning economic systems with planetary and human well-being through innovative solutions, partnerships, and long-term sustainability commitments, we can drive meaningful progress. The time to act—and act together—is now. #ClimateAction #SustainableFuture #SystemicChange #PPPP #GlobalCollaboration #GreenTransformation #FamilyBusinesses #UnitedNations
Last week, I was honoured to participate in the Executive Roundtable on Sustainable Finance, hosted by the United Nations Global Compact and Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). This high-level conversation brought together CEOs, CFOs, and institutional investors to accelerate actionable strategies for sustainable finance, directly supporting the UN’s Road Map for Financing the 2030 Agenda. Sustainable finance faces ground-level challenges—but funding alone isn’t the fix. During the discussion, I emphasised that finance is the bloodstream: vital, yet real impact demands systemic integration. To move beyond theory of change, we need a common language and management framework that connects what we fund to where it leads. This is why at TPC (Tsao Pao Chee), we align #advocacy, #philanthropy, and #leadership into one strategy (as in my #IMPACTINVESTING book), ensuring initiatives are actionable and interconnected. Through No.17 Foundation, we’re fostering global collaboration to design multi-component partnerships to rewire ecosystems, bridging institutions with shared goals. Only when policy, finance, and business ecosystems align can sustainable practices fuel a flourishing future. 🌍 #SustainableFinance #SystemsChange #ImpactInvesting #GlobalCollaboration #SustainableBusiness #FlourishingFuture

This year at Davos, I am honored to be engaged in profound discussions—from climate change and ocean economy, business reform and social transformation to the role of education in the AI era. A recurring theme was shared: global partnership and co-creation are essential to transform thought leadership into action leadership. A new consciousness emerged, calling for businesses and investors to align profitability with purpose. The shift to a well-being economy—rooted in happiness, unity and consciousness—requires bridging East and West, empowering MSMEs, and amplifying young voices globally.🌍 Together, we must co-create frameworks that align people, profit, planet and redefining philanthropy, defying the current materialistic, deterministic, and dualistic paradigm. As the Lunar New Year approaches, it’s a precious moment to celebrate with loved ones and reflect on our relationship with ourselves, society, and the environment. Let’s carry this spirit of unity and transformation forward, making 2025 a milestone for action, flourishing life, and thriving communities. After the holiday break, I will share a full recap of this year’s Davos journey. Wishing everyone a prosperous and reflective Year of the Snake. 🐍✨ #WEF25 #WellbeingEconomy #Sustainability #ImpactInvesting #ActionLeadership
Over the next five days, I’ll join the World Economic Forum in Davos to engage in transformative conversations about the most pressing common challenges humanity share in our time. Sustainability, globalization, and technology are reshaping our world, and now is the moment to co-create solutions for well-being and happiness we all wish for. This is more than a dialogue—it’s a movement to evolve together. By fostering collaboration over competition and learning from the next generation, we can shift paradigms and build trust to drive meaningful change. As Rainbow Warriors, we are called to lead with compassion, courage, and common humanity, embracing love as the ultimate solution to our shared challenges. These themes are central to my new book, Impact Investing for Life Flourishing, which explores how we can align wealth with purpose by embracing collective well-being, unity, and consciousness, leading to a holistic “I to We” transformation. Join me on this journey as we co-create a more sustainable future. Together, we can turn our words into collective action and make a difference! 🌏✨ #WEF2025 #Leadership #Sustainability #WellBeing #FamilyBusiness #ImpactInvesting #LifeFlourishing #RainbowWarriors
Recently we have signed a memorandum of understanding with Bali Turtle Island Development, the private developer of Kura Kura SEZ. This partnership aims to explore impact-driven investment opportunities in Mindfulness and Wellness, seamlessly integrating with the region’s master plan and sustainability vision. Through innovation and mindful planning, we are excited to set new benchmarks for development—honoring Bali’s rich traditions while meeting the needs of a modern world. During the celebration, I shared my thoughts on how humanity can transcend identities and projections to rediscover our true nature: LOVE. Together, let’s let our light shine and create a brighter future. #sustainability #truenature #love #wellness #wellbeing #mindfulness #community #kurakura
Last week I was honored to be invited to deliver a guest lecture and participate in a fireside chat with Mr.Tasos Zavitsanakis at the Hong Kong University Business School. We exchanged ideas and insights on the vital topic of transforming responsible leadership education to address the challenges of the climate crisis and digital transformation. We live in an era of constant change and uncertainty, which has given rise to many fears. Speaking particularly to the young people in the audience, I emphasized that it is because of this inner fear that we perceive the future as filled with difficulties and challenges. In reality, however, leadership comes from within— just like love and creativity, which are fundamental to our nature. If your mind is free from that difficulty, your creativity will flourish, and the inner power will rise within you. A true leader in this era should be defined by followership, built on role modeling and relationships. To me, leadership is a journey of self-cultivation— a practice of refining our inner power, elevating our consciousness, and deepening our awareness of the external context in which we express our authentic selves. With AI's rapid growth, humanity is undergoing a profound repositioning and restoration— physically, mentally, and spiritually. Wellness and well-being are emerging as top trends, with sustainability as the key driver. Coming from business school, we must take full responsibility for creating the future market economy. Embrace the role as a CEO of Love, reap the dividend of joy, and discover our true leadership within. #Leadership #Followership #creativity #innernature #consciousness #CEOofLove #sustainability
Last Thursday, Dr. Peter Lee and I co-hosted a seminar in Hong Kong titled "Opportunities in the Era of Wellbeing Economy and Embracing National Development Strategies." The event attracted over 150 business leaders and visionaries from both Mainland China and Hong Kong, all gathering to discuss the opportunities and challenges small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face in this new era. In line with Dr. Lee’s call for Hong Kong SMEs to tap into national development strategies, embrace the global market, and adapt to emerging trends in wellbeing and the circular economy, I highlighted the critical role of partnerships in advancing the 17th UN SDG. I also reaffirmed the founding purpose of The Association for Wellbeing Economy (AWE): to cultivate a thriving, sustainable wellbeing economy that empowers businesses dedicated to making a positive social and environmental impact. Looking ahead, AWE is excited to partner with Sanskrit, a multi-faceted innovation platform founded by Dr. Lee on the principle of benevolence, bringing together compassionate individuals dedicated to addressing humanity’s shared challenges. Together, we’ll strengthen ties with businesses and thought leaders to drive sustainable transformation, while fostering deeper collaboration between Hong Kong and Mainland China. Our goal is to help Hong Kong SMEs seize opportunities presented by national development strategies and integrate into the broader picture of national progress. Let’s unite for a prosperous and sustainable future for all. #WellbeingEconomy #SMEs #HongKong #GreaterBayArea #partnership #sustainabledevelopment #impactinvestment
During UN Summit of the Future 2024, one of TPC (Tsao Pao Chee)’s associated non-profit OCTAVE Institute Limited signed a MOU with United Nations Global Compact. At the core of the partnership is the creation of a university focusing on sustainability, aiming at reshaping the education systems worldwide, equipping future leaders with the tools they need to accelerate progress on the UN SDGs. During the session “Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Future: Transforming Leadership Education”, I talked about the action of Love. Everything is interconnected and it is important to realize that humanity is an integral part of a holistic life system. The business community is a key driver in achieving our sustainability goals. Only by doing will we know, and we can adjust our path to meet the SDGs. Business is the shaper of this market economy. While the UN sets direction and agenda for humanity, business must be responsible for realizing it. The institution will then serve as a prototype for higher education systems globally, embracing a holistic approach that prioritizes innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility. With this, we will join together to discover the love for life and humanity, and our role in the era of well-being. #UnitedNations #SDGs #FamilyBusiness #FutureEducation #NextGeneration #Leadership #QuantumLeadership #Partnerships
I’m more than excited to announce that our family business TPC (Tsao Pao Chee), with a four-generation legacy of serving the marine industry for over 120 years, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mark Dalio, Founder, Co-CEO OceanX, between our nonprofit arm the No.17 Foundation, and OceanX, an initiative of Dalio Philanthropies, facilitated by Jennifer Lewis Corporate Advisor, Philanthropy & Advocacy from Temasek Trust. Through long-term research, conservation, and leadership development, we are committed to leading and contributing to the sustainable ocean development and its evolutionary journey. I emphasized that this is the beginning of the journey of our two families to do more for our aspirations to finding a solution to restoring the ocean. More plans have been seeded to move forward and we will move step by step for the flourishing of the ocean. I salute Ray Dalio and Mark Dalio for their leadership for humanity. Earlier that day, we also initiated a panel discussion with Dr.Vincent Pieribone, OceanX CEO, and Dr.Zeehan Jaafar from NUS on Quantum Leadership followed by an interactive session focused on ocean preservation and restoration. With OCTAVE Institute Limited now on board, it’s time for the next generation of passionate ocean leaders to step up, protecting, preserving, and harnessing our oceans for lasting social and environmental impact. As we celebrate the connection to home and the longing it brings during the Mid-Autumn Festival, it is also important to recognize that humanity shares a common home called “Earth”, and so are the oceans. We are not separate from nature; we are an integral part of the holistic life system. This multi-year partnership will then harness the combined expertise of both families to co-create a new era of well-being for all. #OceanConservation #BlueOceanCommunity #FamilyBusinesses #SustainableDevelopment #QuantumLeadership #SDGs #RestoreNature #ImpactInvestment
Last weekend, I was delighted to once again welcome Mr.SIDDHARTH CHATTERJEE 常启德, the UN Resident Coordinator in China, to SANGHA Retreat by OCTAVE in Suzhou for a closed-door dialogue with a group of discerning business leaders from YPO Gold Shanghai. Centered on the theme “New Paradigm, New Economy, New Strategy,” the discussion delved into the shared challenges humanity faces and explored how business leaders can draw on Chinese wisdom to embrace new responsibilities for sustainable development in this new era of well-being. During the discussion, I emphasized the need for oneness with ourselves and the world for true prosperity. As our moral sentiment awakens, we must embrace global responsibility, guided by China's rich cultural roots. With the United Nations‘ fostering dialogue and collaboration through SDG 17, business leaders can discover their purpose and calling and become key drivers of positive global impact. Our discussion also highlighted the importance of health and well-being, which is about achieving coherence within the holistic life system. Through a special breath work session led by Mr. Siddhartha, it became evident that investing in health—across individuals, organizations, and the planet—is essential for securing a sustainable future for all. The key to unlocking this potential lies in developing innovative business models that fully embrace this opportunity, driven by strong partnerships and collaborations. #wellness #wellbeingeconomy #UnitedNations #17SDG #sustainabledevelopment #neweconomy #newparadigm #newstrategy #impactinvestment
Last Saturday, we gathered with over 2000 individuals in the heart of Shanghai for a 10-hour non-stop celebration of healing and art, marking the 10th anniversary of the launch of THE LIVING ROOM by OCTAVE. Back in 1995, I established the East-West Cultural Development Centre in Singapore to explore the themes of modernity and sustainable development. After decades of research, we began to envision how to bring this integrated wisdom of East and West to life. In 2015, we returned to my hometown of Shanghai to build this urban health rehabilitation center. THE LIVING ROOM by OCTAVE is a prototype and a bond of history, culture, and ecology between people. Through the practice of OCAVE’s Eight Living Habits, it offers a holistic community learning space and bespoke wellness solutions. In this field, everyone can undergo a transformative and evolutionary journey. A decade ago, we planted a seed of “well-being and happiness”, and over the years, we've established mind-body connections for more than half a million individuals. Guided by the ancient wisdom of “unity of universe and humanity (天人合一)”, we help people recognize themselves, build new connections with others, re-examine the meaning and essence of life, and co-create a sustainable future for all. We also look forward to bringing this new culture and lifestyle to all of Asia, embarking on the next decade of well-being with everyone. #THELIVINGROOM #OCTAVE #Wellbeing #Happiness #Healing #8livinghabits #WellbeingEconomy #FamilyBusiness
Earlier this week, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) at the NUS Business School. This MOU establishes the Well-being and EESG Academy (WEGA), aimed at promoting sustainable well-being and happiness economy in Asia and globally. Joined by TPC's Chief Stewardship & Well-being Governance Officer, Yuelin Yang, we visited Business School Dean Andrew Rose, Professor Lawrence Loh, and their team at NUS. During the signing ceremony, I emphasized that we are urgently at the eleventh hour in finding solutions for climate change. A holistic theory of change is needed to address the common challenges humanity faces today. It is only through partnerships that we can raise public awareness and create a new business narrative and a new social contract. Therefore, creating an Asia-focused matrix is essential to steer positive climate and social changes. Love is the solution that provides us with courage, leadership, and, more importantly, the heartfelt care that we can embrace and be inclusive. Ultimately, the goal of businesses is to serve the well-being of the life system. With WEGA, we look forward to leading research and education with a distinctively Asian approach towards sustainability and fostering public, private, and philanthropic partnerships. This initiative is timely, and we invite all of you to join this movement and take action now! #sustainability #theoryofchange #ESG #wellbeingeconomy #familybusiness #NUS #WEGA #EESG #PPPP
Over the past three days, I attended the World Economic Forum (Summer Davos) in Dalian, a regional shipping hub in northeast China. As a family business serving the maritime industry for over 120 years, we have a special connection with the city. And I was awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of Dalian” back in 2000. It is absolutely thrilling to be back for the forum, sharing my insights on climate change and new business reform at this juncture of economic transition amidst geopolitical tensions. In addressing climate issues, I emphasized that the permanent solution lies in individual and social transformation, recognizing humanity as an integral part of a holistic life system. This concept is reflected in the Chinese wisdom of the unity of heaven and humanity (天人合一), a treasure that belongs to all life. This journey has also been filled with deep conversations and meaningful exchanges, including an exploration of China's contributions with Liming Chen, Chairman of World Economic Forum Greater China, collaborative discussions on climate change with Gim Neo, Managing Director, Centre for Nature and Climate at the World Economic Forum, and insightful dialogues with Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, and SIDDHARTH CHATTERJEE 常启德, Resident Coordinator to China, United Nations, on addressing the challenges of our new era. WEF is an essential global platform, driving economic change towards well-being and happiness in a new era. And Summer Davos stands out for its increased Asian participation and perspectives, especially since it's held in Asia, notably China. It is important to encourage more dialogue, foster stronger connections with each other, and create opportunities for building friendships. And over time, hopefully with Asian engagement and new perspective, conversations can happen. #SummerDavos #Davos #WEF #ClimateChange #UnitedNations #WellbeingEconomy #FamilyBusiness
Just returned from an inspiring panel discussion on strengthening China-Africa-UN collaboration on climate change at the UN General Assembly in Beijing, invited by Mr. SIDDHARTH CHATTERJEE 常启德. It was an honor to share my thoughts on the next step for sustainable development. I suggested the need to formulate a theory of change that places climate change at the center of integrating the UN SDGs into a holistic system, aligning with the UN Millennium Development Goals (2000). This approach, supported by a robust matrix, aims to deliver on the well-being and happiness economy as advocated by the UN in 2012. Additionally, the holistic impact theory presented by the UN allows for the unification and alignment of capital to work together effectively. Many believe that climate change encompasses all forms of pollution and that transforming our current market economy is essential to addressing this global challenge. Together, we can create a sustainable future for all. #UnitedNations #ClimateFinance #ClimateChange #ClimateAction #Sustainability #TheoryOfChange
As the Chairman of Council of Wisdom, I participated in the FBN-The Family Business Network Family Office Community International Forum 2024, co-hosted by Family Business Network (FBN) Asia in Singapore last week. In my opening remarks, I shared the reason for IMC to be rebranded to TPC (Tsao Pao Chee) - in honouring our roots and discovering the wisdom of our own culture. There’s an old saying in Tao Te Ching that “He who overcomes others is powerful. He who overcomes himself is strong.” (胜人者有力,自胜者强) . Bigness is not legacy, greatness is legacy. There's only one value and it is how we choose to add value to the bigger family, the whole life system. For over 20 years, I have been involved in FBN. Now with climate change and sustainability serving as a wake-up call, I urge everyone to join our movement and to inspire other family businesses to take up our responsibility. Let's live our true legacy in this era of well-being. #FamilyBusiness #ImpactInvesting #SuccessionValueLegacy #ClimateChange #ActionLeadership
Over the weekend, we convened in SANGHA Retreat by OCTAVE in Suzhou, China with a new cohort of participants for our Quantum Leadership Program, collaborating on a 3-day retreat on Well-being Economy. During our exploration of the new era and new leadership, I shared the essence of Quantum Leadership: to find who you really are and live your inner calling. When one awakens to the quantum worldview, they start to actualize their potential and create value. True impact investing is about serving well-being of life, leading business reform towards a purpose-led-profit organization. Without Quantum Leadership, it becomes challenging to achieve individual and collective transformation. In this rapidly changing world, nurturing adaptability and innovation is crucial to achieving common goals and visions. Each one of us is building our impact investing in life, and the pivotal point lies in consciousness shift that propels us to actualize this impact into tangible actions. The value created through collaboration is incomparable. When everyone contributes to adding value to life, only then can we move towards the flourishing Life of all. #QuantumLeadership #ImpactInvesting #WellbeingEconomy #ESG #Leadership #Awakening #WellbeingEra #FamilyBusiness
This week at the Prestel & Partner’s Family Office Forum, I shared the myth that “wealth does not last beyond three generations” as well as the misconception surrounding legacy, which is crucial for the sustainability of family businesses. To go beyond fear and shift our mindset, it is essential to recognize that Adding Value to Life is paramount, as family, business, society and the whole earth is a collective and each of us leaves behind a legacy as we journey through life. If we have a bigger purpose to unite us, there's an opportunity for the true family to flourish. Listen to Chavalit’s speech to discover his insights on how family businesses will shift their mindset to sustain in the era of well-being. #FamilyBusiness #Value #Succession #Legacy #Love #ImpactInvesting #PurposeLedProfit #Sustainability
Last week, as TPC (Tsao Pao Chee) became the pioneer member of the Blue Oceans Community, I joined the Philanthropy Asia Alliance (PAA) aboard the OCEANXPLORER to collectively explore the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas, and marine resources. As a family business with a history spanning 120 years, we have been serving sea transport and other marine industries to meet the changes of each era. Today, I like to share with my colleagues in the industry that we have been utilizing and extracting resources from the Ocean. It's imperative that we consider investing in restoration and extraction. There is a need for us to act now to prevent the Ocean from reaching a tipping point that could exacerbate climate change significantly. This is both a risk and an opportunity for the marine industry and it's crucial that we reassess the future direction of the industry. Everything is interconnected. The definition of well-being today is becoming more extensive, encompassing not only ourselves, our families, and society, but the entire planet. This calls for business reform with global leaders to embrace the process of restoration – restoring purpose to business, health to our oceans and planet, and the essence of love to life. Remaining true to our commitment to continuously evolve to serve the era, TPC (Tsao Pao Chee) is now transforming into a well-being business, poised to serve the next era. Doing is Knowing. Through the formation of the Blue Oceans Initiative in partnership with Dalio Philanthropies, I advocate for a transition from thought leadership to action leadership, utilizing science and education to preserve our marine and coastal ecosystems. My hope is that by 2030, we will awaken to philanthropy as part of our demeanor and a way of living. At this juncture, we need all the LOVE we can give to humanity. #OceanX #BlueOceanCommunity #PAA #Philanthropy #Education #Sustainability #ActionLeadership #WellbeingEconomy #ImpactInvestment #FamilyBusiness
Earlier this week, our Chief Stewardship and Well-being Governance Officer Yuelin Yang and I welcomed Maud Savary-Mornet and over 70 members and friends of The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) to join a private networking event in our Singapore office, exploring the realm of impact investing and elucidating the significance of co-creation on this journey towards flourishing of life. I advocated for Asia's active participation in such global platforms, with alignment and collaboration being the natural actions to establish a new globalized reality. Additionally, it is crucial for GIIN to further clarify its purpose and elevate its goals, aspirations, and strategies to achieve greater outcomes. Change yourself, and everything will change around you. It is time to start acting to truly make an impact and for action leadership to take hold. And the time is now. #ImpactInvesting #Impact #GIIN #Wellbeing #WellbeingEconomy #Partnership #CoCreation #Networking #APAC
Reflecting on the enlightening Fireside Chat with Mr. SIDDHARTH CHATTERJEE 常启德 the UN 🇺🇳 Resident Coordinator in China 🇨🇳 at our distinctive At One International Forum, it became evident that our dialogue transcended typical conversations, evolving into a collaborative pool of ideas targeting actionable solutions for today's global 🌎 challenges. Mr. Chatterjee passionately conveyed the notion that our humanity is interconnected, bound by shared dreams and ambitions. Over the past three days, gathering 16,000 brilliant minds and compassionate hearts, we've engaged in a vibrant gathering under the theme of “One Choice, One World” with global officials, scholars, and leaders at the fourth AT ONE International Festival held at SANGHA Retreat by OCTAVE in Suzhou, China, marching together towards a greener, more sustainable future. During the International Forum in conjunction with the festival, we engaged in deep discussions and immersive practices around the three major topics of culture, education, and well-being economy. I particularly emphasized that challenges are opportunities for evolution and co-creation of a new future. Transformations in consciousness, beliefs, culture, and worldviews will drive a fresh way of life with well-being and happiness as a shared goal, leading to a purpose-led-profit business towards a flourishing life for all. We are also honored to have Mr. Omid Aschari, Senior Advisor for the UN Global Compact to grace our three-day forum with an inaugural address. He specifically mentioned that true leadership is about stewardship of our planet, our communities and our shared humanity. The forum speaks to the urgent need for a new paradigm and a systemic change in leadership that is rooted in inclusivity, sustainability and human dignity. The future is already here, and each individual plays a vital role in supporting a complete journey of life within this paradigm shift. Embarking from the springboard of this annual event, I invite everyone to join our dialogue, participate in our actions, and embrace a collective awakening globally. For 120 years, the Tsao family’s generational sustainability is rooted in a single phrase: “Evolve to Serve the Era.” Today, we are witnessing together a new milestone at the AT ONE International Festival in Suzhou, China, unveiling a historic rebrand from IMC Pan Asia Alliance (IMCPAA) to TPC (Tsao Pao Chee) . This is more than just turning the page. We need to go back to finding our own roots, our own culture, our own morality, and ethical traditions. Therefore, I decided to return to our roots and bring back the original trade name of the family business used by my great grandfather because that has always been our true brand. With this, we will join together to discover the love for life and humanity, and our role in the era of well-being. By fostering a collective consciousness, we can co-create a more sustainable future for all. #TsaoPaoChee #TPC #familybusiness #culture #evolvetoservetheera #wellbeing #sustainability #awakening #consciousness #flourishing #newera
Fourth Generation Steward of IMCPAA, Chavalit Frederick Tsao shares his insights with SCMP on the new role of Asian family businesses as we move towards a greener and more sustainable future. “When you care to a certain point where your care is higher than your fear, an action called love takes place.” Chavalit emphasizes that family businesses should promote sustainability as it would benefit their succession planning and enhance their value and legacy as family business leaders natually take a longer-term outlook. Find out more from Chavalit’s insights on role of family businesses in solving today’s sustainability challenges. #familybusiness #succession #value #legacy #sustainability #love #leadership
I am pleased to join the conversation with Professor Jeffrey Sachs and Poman Lo about the sustainable development and ethical investment, which aim to drive positive change across Asia and beyond. In response to Professor Jeffrey's guiding concept on sustainable development, I shared my views that well-being is the coherence of the whole life system, and as we achieve greater coherency, we become more integrated into oneness. Today, as the climate crisis serves as a wake-up call for human survival, it is important to recognize that we lack of a crucial resource called spiritual capital, essential for transformation. Spiritual capital resides in our right brain, representing creativity, care, and compassion. When care arise to go beyond fear, there is an action called LOVE. My theory of change lies in shifting consciousness of which is the mother of all capital. As we all evolve to a higher level of consciousness and prosperity, we invest in spiritual capital, which give birth to all capital. This unites us in one action, with one common goal for our one and only Earth. #sustainabledevelopment #spiritualcapital #consciousness #climatecrisis #ethicalinvestment #impactinvesting #coherency #love #oneness
Today, I was at the One Earth Summit alongside inspiring thought leaders from across the globe, united in our mission to protect our one and only home - Earth. I addressed that climate change serves as a powerful wake-up call from the universe, urging us to come together in coherence as we recognize that we are all interconnected within the whole life system. Capital is all resources, and in this evolving market economy, the invisible hand is guiding us towards a paradigm rooted in the theory of moral sentiments, with ESG bringing back ethics and impact paving the way for a more conscious and sustainable future. When care arise to go beyond fear, love is a natural action that follows. We need the leadership of institutions to restore our inner human nature of LOVE, fuelling action to protect the outer environment, which is our home, our only ONE EARTH. This is our one choice, our shared destiny, and our legacy. #OneEarthSummit #Sustainability #Leadership #GreenTransition #ClimateCrisis #Love #Motivation #Wellbeing #Impact #FamilyBusiness
Last Thursday, IMC hosted the Asian Corporate Governance Association (ACGA) and the NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) networking event at the Octave Living Room Singapore, gathering likeminded representatives from various sectors, including Professor Lawrence Loh (NUS), Amar Gill (ACGA), Yuelin Yang (IMCPAA) and other impact investors, family offices, policymakers, and a range of asset managers together to delve into ESG and governance issues. In my opening remarks, I urged business leaders to take immediate action to rectify the adverse impact of the market economy on ESG. While corporations with numerous shareholders may face different priorities, family businesses, given their greater control over direction, prioritize succession, value, and legacy that inherently tied to the long-term future of the firm. Recognizing the pivotal roles played by each sector, it is important for us all to infuse mindfulness into each day's activities, continuously adding value to life, humanity, society, and our shared planet - change our world, and the world will change around us. #ESG #EnvironmentalSocialGovernance #CorporateGovernance #CorporateSustainability #IMCPanAsiaAlliance #Leadership #Mindfulness #ImpactInvestment
The only thing consistent is evolution, and to flourish, we must always evolve against the challenge. In the well-being and happiness era, we must take on a different perspective around Values and Purpose. Going beyond self-actualization, there is another level; transcending the self and pursuing the flourishing for all. This common purpose is the key to addressing our shared sustainability challenge. - #Evolution #WellbeingEra #Sustainability #Purpose #Values
In the past week, I was at the 2024 World Economic Forum at Davos. The focus for the international community is “Rebuilding Trust” where different voices spoke with the same urgency, to solve the sustainability challenges especially on climate change towards flourishing of life. I conveyed the essence of accelerating the Green Transition, emphasizing that along with a focus on external system transformation on business frameworks and structures, the motivation to commit to leadership action lies on consciousness shift within the internal system. Our Restore Nature Foundation has announced the new documentary “Regeneration Generation”, jointly with Amazonian tribe leaders and guardians to raise humanity’s awareness on restoring our inner human nature of love, while restoring the outer physical environment. - #Davos2024 #WorldEconomicForum #RebuildingTrust #Sustainability #BusinessReform #GreenTransition #ClimatePhilanthropy #Wellbeing #Impact #Ecosystem #NewParadigm #FamilyBusiness #Consciousness #Mindfulness
As we journey into the new era together as journeymates, let us remember that opportunities will unfold as our minds expands.
